The precise final dimensions cannot
yet be established, but should be
similar to Albizia julibrissin, whom it
resembles in crown and leaf
structure. The innovative element
lies in the colour of the leaves, which
start off green, then change quickly
to a reddish-purple that does not
fade as the day gradually become
hotter, as usually happens with most
red-leaved plants. On the contrary,
the red is at its brightest in full
summer, offering a sharp contrast of
colours throughout the summer
months, between the green of new
leaves and the red of older ones. Flowers have the same shape and abundance as A.
julibrissin, but are of a deeper pink, veering on red. Fruits identical. Growing
requirements and use the same as A. julibrissin.
